This covers skills and knowledge to help you manage situations where a dog requires emergency action whilst in the outdoors. Are you working as a dog care professional? Do you work with dogs outdoors? Do you walk your dog in woods, mountains & other difficult to access locations? Have you attended a canine first aid course taught in a classroom or online?? Then this course is for you!! Dogs are rarely going to injure themselves seriously in the home or garden where getting them to professional help & the vets is easier. This session will give you the tools, knowledge, skills and practical experience of dealing & handling emergency situations for when your dog or a dog in your care injures themselves by just being a dog! This new course shares my knowledge from personal and professional experiences of handling emergencies in the outdoors. If you want to be prepared for your adventure with your best friend then this is a must! Topics include: Know your dog, weekly health checks, Managing an incident, Checking and understanding vital signs, Dealing with unconsciousness, CPR, Drowning, Choking, Bleeding, injuries, Shock Heat stroke Exposure & Hypothermia Adder bites Restraints, carrying and moving techniques and Dealing with an aggressive/confused dog. This course is delivered through hands on practical experience not death by power point.
