Julie spent her 20's travelling the world before returning to the UK to embark on a career in the NHS. She has enjoyed being a sport dog handler for many years.
Alongside her rescue Spanish Water dog who has struggled with anxiety and reactivity they have skilled themselves in the world of Scent Detection, Truffle Hunting, Mantrailing, Human ID Tracking, Deer tracking, Canicross and Bike-jor.
Julie has recently given up her job in the NHS as a Midwife and Health Visitor to coach and support dogs and their guardians in the sport world of scent detection and mantrailing.
Julie has just recently completed her City & Guilds qualification as a certified Scent Detection Dog Handler and Trainer. This is the only assured programme in the UK.
Julie has also completed an intensive 10 month Human ID tracking course with Endeavour canine and ILLMA Global Training. This course has offered in depth knowledge of tracking to offer a beneficial twist on mantrailing
Julie stays up to date with all the latest research and regularly participates in training workshops with dog trainers who are leaders in their field to ensure she is giving the best possible coaching and advice to all handlers and their dogs from beginners to experienced in the world of scent detection.
Julie's passion is Truffle hunting, working her dogs as often as possible across and UK and Europe hunting for the illusive Truffle.
Julie's teaching style is relaxed and fun for both dog and handler.
